We grew up as Bloomfield Roots. We compete as the Detroit Sting. Same kids. Same families. Sharper edge.
For years we were Bloomfield Roots — a small, scrappy program built around fundamentals and the kind of families who show up early and stay late. We grew. The talent grew. The tournaments got bigger. The pin in the map moved south.
So we changed our name to match where we actually play, against who, and how. The roots don't go away. They go deeper. The sting is what comes next.

From 8U to 14U, every Sting team plays a full tournament season — weekends in Michigan, road trips through Ohio and Indiana, and a national event each summer.
Our staff played the game at the levels we want our kids to reach. That's how you teach it — by having lived it.
Former D-I infielder, 12 years in travel ball, founded the Roots program in Bloomfield Hills.
Pro-arm-care certified. Builds individual throwing programs for every Sting pitcher, 8U through 14U.
Bat speed, swing path, two-strike approach. Twenty-plus alums into varsity lineups.
Specialty: the high school transition. Where the bar gets raised and most kids get cut.

The coaches don't just teach baseball. They teach my son how to handle a bad day, a bad inning, and a good win without getting cocky.
Came in as a kid who couldn't catch a fly ball. Two seasons later he's playing center on the varsity B team. They get the work in.
It feels like a small program with a big-program engine behind it. That's rare, and it's why we drove across two counties to get here.
